One the best I had during my studies.
The course is very well organized. I really appreciated both the phases of the course, the lectures at the beginning and the project then. Lectures are helpful to let you get into a mindset in with things are distributed, cultures are heterogeneous and challenges always back to the corner!
one of the best in my education in terms of organization and concept.
Best course I've taken during my master degree
There are a few things that could be better, but in general, awesome experience and I'd do it again.

Comment - The course has fulfilled my expectations2 responses
Yes! I didn't have a clear idea of what I would have done and even less on how would have done it. Going through the course I've appreciated what distributed software development is and which is the best way to apply this approach in the real world.
I've expected more diversity in my team, and more input from supervisors.

Really good in my opinion because it is a method in which you first understand the theory and the you put it in practice. A project done in this way help you really understand what's the meaning of distributed work.
The concept of the course with lectures and projects is probably the most useful type of course for students on their last year of college.

excellent. The support and information were precise and given at the right time.
Web page could use some redesigning, it is 2018 after all.

new technologies, team work
- New technologies - New methodologies and workflows - How to interact in a good way with people far from me in with a different point of view with respect to the mine - I've a more clear idea on what I would like to do in my future work
I've learned couple of new technologies, importance of assessing other people's skills and level of commitment to the project. Also, I've learned that "self organising" teams are an elusive concept.

some of them were interesting
Some lectures were hard to follow.
Especially Gabriele Abermann, from Salzburg University of Applied Sciences
I didn't like that some of the guest lecturers were just sitting in front of their computers and talking. From my perspective, it looked as if they just wanted to get it over with.

it was good
Could have been better, but still a good result anyway. I liked to work with the remote site and see people doing the same as me but just geographically really far.
excellent.
It can be better
The cooperation was good, but the fact that the team was distributed was very obvious (e.g. "I'll never see those people ever again, do I really have to put that much work into this project?")

I put a lot of efforts for this course and project. It took a lot of time, weekly. However, I'm satisfied to have took this course. I really liked it. I would took it again.
A little bit more than normal, but it was predicted
My workload was ok. There were couple of late nights, but not as much as I expected.

Comment - The equipment for the distance work was3 responses
I think overall very good! It's complicated to arrange all the required communication tool to taught a distributed lecture. Issues cannot be foreseen and are always present, especially those of bad or lacking connection.
Skype worked really bad during meeting, also we had a lot of issue during lessons with technology for webco (like microphone, camera, etc)
The equipment for the distance work could be way better, but most importantly, it shouldn't be set up for each presentation. What I mean by that is that there shouldn't be so much plugging and unplugging that may cause the connections to ware off and cause weird noises. I know you guys know this but listening to a non-native english speaker is hard as it is without all the tech issues.

13. The things I most liked in the course:7 responses
team work
This is the only course that comes close to real work experience. This is also the only chance I got to work on a multi-universities project. Other lectures could tako a note from you guys on how to run a great course. And definetly, this course should be advertised more amongst students. This is THE course to take during you studies if you ask me.
The challenge that this course is: to work with people geographically far from you in the best way possible. I found really interesting to organize and schedule all the team's tasks in a good way by assigning them regardless the location they would have been accomplished. I also liked a lot to talk with people that were coming from different contexts than the mine. I encountered colleagues that had native languages really far from the mine and I liked to get it touch with the culture they belonged at.
project work in group , learning about new technologies and the communciation with market(industry).
Working with new people, improving and presenting in English, having
Facing and understand a lot of cultural differences
The thing I liked most in the course is the fact that I got to learn how to work in distributed team in which I could make mistakes, see other make mistakes, fix those mistakes and learn from them in a "safe" environment. This "safe" environment is an environment where the worst thing that could happen is that supervisors give us less points for the final grade, rather than "real" environment where mistakes could mean losing a client, a lot of money or even a job.

14. The following can be improved in the course:7 responses
video streaming
I am not really sure, but maybe one less presentation would be better, for instance maybe ditch the pre-alpha. And than have a deliverable every three wewks. Perhaps projects could be a bit better that way. Maybe AB test it hehe to see which groups would do a better job, ones with more presentations or ones with less :D or is this just me rambling?...
Some video conference equipment like a working microphone and a desktop camera with higher resolution. The credits assigned to the course. 5 CFUs are too little. But in general I would suggest to keep this course as it is, guarding it from drastic changes and as if it was precious gem for students like actually it is.
Video calls, lectures and maybe adding more interaction between teams and their projects.
Guest lectures should be more interesting.
There could be also an evaluation about lessons. In this way, students will be more concentrated during it. Because, in my opinion, my classmates were doing personal stuff during lessons and they loose a lot of useful information from teachers. For example, lesson about SCRUM or about cultural differences were really important and they were ignored by someone.
Have a designated room where all the equipment will be set up at the beginning of the course so the risk of tech not working or not being connected properly is, if not removed, reduced. Also, guys at POLIMI should get a proper room where everyone is visible and there is no need for switching places (seats) and having people presenting while sitting down.
